My passions at -26C

So I ventured out to Prince's Island Park on Saturday December 12. It was frosty. The trees along the river were not frosty enough for me to stop the car and get out. However, parking near Prince's Island I knew I would find the ever-shrinking pond full of ducks. I actually think the fowl overnight at this pond and I would likely find more of them at dusk .... another day. But so cold they huddled tight, probably infringing on each other's boundaries. Although maybe ducks don't have boundaries. And closeness, like with the penguins at Antarctica, maybe closeness is the only way to survive. Like humans in a cold night in the bush, huddled. So I did find frosty shrubs and cold ducks and interesting imagery as a result of steamy water.

I would rather practice my passions with some company, but realize that being alone should not stop me from doing what I love. And I'd rather do it alone than with someone who is not interested. It's a small step, of course.
